Hanukkah Menorah

The Hanukkah Menorah is also called Chanukiah or Hanukkiah. This is a specially designed candelabrum. The special characteristics about the Hanukkah Menorah is that it is a nine-branched candelabrum and is used as the special Hanukkah lamp. This is a special candelabrum that is lit during the 8 days of the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah.

The Hanukkah Menorah is displayed in public during Hanukkah, which is in December. It is considered to be a big event and it is common for popular public figures participate in the public lighting of the Menorah. This festival is popular in many countries around the world. For example, there is now a tradition at the White House for the annual Hanukkah party. This also includes a Menorah candle lighting ceremony. The same is true for the United Kingdom. There is a Menorah candle lighting ceremony at the official residence of the Speaker of the House of Commons, which is organized by the House of Commons of United Kingdom.

There are many beliefs in how this festival came to be, however, one of the more well-known origin stories takes place in Jerusalem. Legends state that after the Greek-Syrian oppressors destroyed the Jewish Holy Temple and there was not enough pure oil remaining once they reclaimed the temple in the Maccabean Revolt. During this time worshiper’s one-day supply of oil lasted them eight days and nights and hence Chanukah was established.

The tradition of Hanukkah involves lighting a new branch of each night, hence at the end of the 8 days, there would 8 candles light up. The last holder and ninth candle is used to light all the other candles or can also be used as an extra light. The ninth candle is called the Shamash. It is necessary for the ninth candle to be placed either higher or lower. There are two options on how they can be arranged; they can be placed in a straight line or in a curve.
